A Capacity Development Workshop for Volunteers was successfully held on Thursday, 4 December, organized by Lal Sabuj Society in collaboration with UNICEF Bangladesh and the Climate Change Health Promotion Unit.
The day-long workshop took place in the conference room of the Health Economics Unit, bringing together 15 volunteers from Dhaka, Gazipur, and Narayanganj. Participants actively engaged in discussions on lead pollution, its associated health risks, major sources of exposure, and effective communication strategies for raising awareness at the community level.
Facilitators led interactive sessions aimed at strengthening volunteers’ understanding of environmental health challenges and improving their ability to communicate key messages during field activities. The training emphasized the importance of actionable knowledge and responsible outreach in preventing lead-related health hazards.
At the end of the workshop, volunteers shared their learning experiences and expressed their enthusiasm for applying the training in their community engagements, reflecting the event’s positive impact on capacity building and environmental health awareness.
