To raise awareness about mental health and address issues such as depression, stress, and self-confidence among adolescents, a special two-day program titled “Mental Health for Teens” was organized in Mymensingh. The event took place at Zahir Uddin High School.
On the first day, August 26, a mental health training session for teachers was held. A total of 27 teachers participated in the session, which focused on recognizing students’ psychological challenges, supporting them with empathy, and creating a healthier learning environment.
On the same day, an awareness session for teenagers was also conducted, engaging more than 100 students in discussions about emotional well-being, stress management, and building resilience. The second day, August 27, featured a session for parents. With the participation of 50 parents, the discussion covered mental changes during adolescence, emotional regulation, and practical strategies to build positive communication with children. Parents expressed that the session gave them valuable insights into better supporting their teenagers.
All sessions were conducted by Mahmuda Mohsina Bushra, psychotherapist at Lal Sabuj Society and consultant at Dhaka City Hospital. Her engaging presentation style, practical examples, and interactive approach created a lasting impression on teachers, parents, and students alike.
