In response to the ongoing severe heatwave across the country, the ‘Trishna Mitai’ campaign has been launched to provide drinking water and refreshing drinks to pedestrians and working-class people. Organized in busy streets and towns across various districts and upazilas, the initiative aims to offer relief by distributing safe drinking water and sherbet to those in need.

Launched in early May, the campaign has been carried out through volunteers in multiple locations including Dhaka, Mymensingh, Barishal, Chattogram, Rajshahi, Patuakhali, Feni, and Gazipur. Local teams of Lal Sabuj Society took the lead in supplying water to passersby while also spreading awareness messages.

Temporary beverage stalls were set up in key areas such as Mehendiganj in Barishal, Gate No.2 in Chattogram, Mymensingh city, Gazipur, and Feni town. These stations remained open from morning to noon, serving countless people each day.

The initiative received positive feedback from local communities. Pedestrians expressed gratitude, saying a glass of cold water on such hot days felt like a blessing
