In a collaborative effort to promote mental well-being, Lal Sabuj Society and Realview organized a mental health awareness session for 15 visually impaired children at Dhaka’s Baptist Mission Integrated School on September 21, 2024. The session, led by Lal Sabuj Society’s psychotherapist Bushra Mahmuda, took place from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m., and focused on vital aspects of child mental health and protection.
Psychotherapist Bushra Mahmuda guided the students through various mental health topics, providing insights on how to care for their emotional and psychological well-being. The interactive session allowed the children to share their experiences and learn strategies to cope with challenges unique to their situation.
The event was attended by the school’s Principal, Gloria Chandrani Baroi, who expressed her gratitude for the initiative, acknowledging the importance of mental health in the overall development of visually impaired children.
At the conclusion of the session, the students voiced their enthusiasm, expressing a strong desire for similar sessions to be held regularly. They emphasized that such initiatives are crucial for their mental well-being and help them feel supported.
