Lal Sabuj Society, in collaboration with BD Creation, organized two awareness activities under the initiative “Plastic Market: Reducing Single-Use Plastic Pollution” in Pabna and Gazipur, reaching and engaging approximately 600 students on the harmful impacts of single-use plastics and the importance of environmental protection.

The first activity was held on 6 August 2026 at Pre-Cadet School in Dashuria, Ishwardi, Pabna. The session focused on raising students’ awareness about the environmental consequences of plastic pollution and encouraging them to reduce the unnecessary use of single-use plastic products.

Students participated in discussions and awareness-building activities designed to help them understand how everyday consumption choices can contribute to plastic pollution. They were encouraged to adopt environmentally friendly practices in their daily lives and share these messages with their families and communities.

A second awareness activity was organized on 16 August 2026 at Bhadun Multipurpose Government Primary School (Primary Section) in Pubail, Gazipur. The programme similarly focused on developing environmental awareness among students and promoting responsible consumption habits.

Through interactive discussions and awareness activities, students learned about the negative impacts of plastic pollution and the importance of reducing dependence on single-use plastics. The sessions also highlighted the role young people can play in promoting sustainable practices and protecting the environment.

Together, the two activities reached approximately 600 students, creating opportunities for young learners in both communities to engage with important environmental issues.

The initiative aims to encourage students to recognize their individual responsibility in reducing plastic pollution and inspire them to make more sustainable choices in their everyday lives. By engaging students at the community level, Lal Sabuj Society and BD Creation seek to nurture environmentally conscious young people who can contribute to building cleaner, healthier, and more sustainable communities.
