Lal Sabuj Society organized a day-long Financial Management & Policy Orientation Workshop on June 21 at the MSB Training Center in Dhaka. The workshop was conducted under the Space to Lead Project of Plan International Bangladesh with the aim of strengthening organizational financial management systems and promoting good governance practices.

The workshop brought together representatives, management committee members, and staff of Lal Sabuj Society. A key focus of the event was the development and orientation of the organization’s financial policy, designed to enhance transparency, accountability, and efficiency in financial operations.

During the sessions, participants were introduced to various components of the newly developed financial policy, including budgeting and budget monitoring, financial reporting, internal control mechanisms, procurement procedures, record keeping, risk management, and compliance with donor requirements. Interactive discussions and practical exercises enabled participants to gain a clearer understanding of the policy and its application within the organization.

Facilitators emphasized that a strong financial management system is essential for ensuring organizational sustainability and maintaining the confidence of stakeholders, partners, and donors. They highlighted that clear financial policies help organizations improve accountability, strengthen governance structures, and ensure the effective use of resources.

Participants actively engaged in discussions, shared experiences, and explored strategies for implementing the financial policy in their day-to-day operations. The workshop also provided an opportunity to identify challenges and develop practical solutions for improving financial management practices.

At the end of the workshop, participants expressed their commitment to implementing the newly developed financial policy and promoting a culture of transparency and accountability within the organization. Organizers expressed optimism that the initiative would contribute significantly to enhancing the institutional capacity of Lal Sabuj Society and support the organization’s long-term development goals.

The workshop concluded with a collective commitment to strengthening financial governance and ensuring sustainable organizational growth through effective financial management practices.
