To mark the International Day of the Girl Child, Lal Sabuj Society organized “Konnar Shopnodigonto,” an initiative designed to encourage adolescent girls to explore their dreams, express their talents, and envision a future shaped by their own choices.
The event was organized at Adarsha High School in Dhaka under the Space to Lead project, with support from Plan International Bangladesh. A total of 90 girls from grades nine and ten participated in the programme.
Through a range of creative activities and group work, the students had opportunities to share their dreams, showcase their talents, and reflect on their future aspirations. The activities encouraged them to build confidence, recognize their potential, and think independently about the paths they want to pursue.
Ekushey Padak-winning dancer Arthi Ahmed joined the event and inspired the students by sharing experiences from her own life and journey. She encouraged the girls to believe in their abilities and pursue their interests and aspirations with confidence. The students also participated in a dance session with her, making the event more engaging and interactive.
Lal Sabuj Society believes that every girl has the right to dream, develop her talents, make her own choices, and shape her future. Through initiatives like “Konnar Shopnodigonto,” the organization continues to create spaces where girls can express themselves, strengthen their confidence, and explore their potential.
Empowering a girl to pursue her dreams means investing in the possibilities of tomorrow.
