On June 29, 2025, a significant Community Dialogue and Tree Plantation Program on “Environment, Climate, and Renewable Energy” was held in Par Shalya, Satkhira, organized by Lal Sabuj Society in collaboration with The Earth’s Youth for Care Project. A total of 70 participants, including 55 local men and women and 15 youth representatives, actively took part in the event.
During the community dialogue, participants discussed the global and local impacts of climate change, the importance of environmental conservation, and the need for using renewable energy sources. The discussion highlighted how climate change directly affects rural life and how the active role of local communities can be the key to finding sustainable solutions.
At the end of the session, participants collectively planted 52 saplings near the riverside. These included environment-friendly and locally adaptable tree species. Through this symbolic act, they turned their awareness into meaningful action.
The entire program was coordinated by Ikramul Kabir Arif, Satkhira District Coordinator of Lal Sabuj Society. He stated, “Through such community dialogues, we aim to raise awareness among local people so that they can take the lead in protecting their environment.”
