
A session on Civic Rights and Leadership Development was held at Barishal University on Tuesday, 21 October.
The event was organized by Lal Sabuj Society with support from The Asia Foundation and funding from the Foreign, Commonwealth & Development Office (FCDO), UK, aiming to raise awareness among students about civic responsibilities and leadership skills.
The session began in the university auditorium, where students participated actively, engaging in discussions on the importance of civic responsibility, ethical values, and reasoned debate in building an informed and responsible society.
Guest speakers shared insights on civic duties, critical thinking, and the role of youth in social change. Their guidance encouraged students to express their opinions confidently and engage in constructive discussions.
At the conclusion of the session, students shared their experiences and expressed enthusiasm for participating in similar programs in the future, reflecting the session’s positive impact on youth engagement, leadership development, and civic learning.
