On July 6, the official launch of the youth-led, development-focused media platform ‘Lal Sabuj Prokash’ was held at The Daily Star Center in Dhaka. The inauguration was marked by a cake-cutting ceremony led by Faruk Wasif, Director General of the Press Institute Bangladesh (PIB).

Originally started in 2010 as a monthly publication from Barishal, Lal Sabuj Prokash has grown over the past decade into a powerful platform for youth expression, ideas, and activism. Now, it has transformed into a full-fledged national media initiative led by young people.

The launch event was attended by prominent media professionals, educators, development workers, and youth representatives and volunteers from different parts of the country under the Lal Sabuj Society. In his speech, Faruk Wasif said, “Lal Sabuj Prokash will bring forward the voices that have long remained unheard. This youth-driven platform will open a new horizon in our country’s media landscape.”

The event also showcased the platform’s future plans, a preview of its first edited reports, and heartfelt reflections shared by the participants. With this launch, Lal Sabuj Prokash officially begins its journey as a bold new media voice amplifying marginalized stories and promoting justice and social change under the leadership of youth.

From villages to cities, hills to remote river islands, the young team of Lal Sabuj Prokash will work to uncover stories of human rights, truth, and fairness from every corner of Bangladesh.
