Background: Sadia Eyesmin is from Thakurgaon and is part of the Rangpur team of Lal Sabuj Society. Sadia serves as a coordinator for the Lal Sabuj Society Rangpur team. She has been a part of the organization since 2018.

Inspiration for Volunteer Work: Sadia was inspired to get involved in volunteer work as it offers opportunities to develop new skills, build on existing ones and create valuable personal and professional connections.

Motivation for Joining: Sadia was motivated to join the Lal Sabuj Society after hearing about it from a friend and learning more from the organization’s page. She always dreamed of doing something for people and understanding them closely which she found the opportunity to do in 2020 through Lal Sabuj Society. The organization’s work on environmental issues and inspiring young people towards good deeds also influenced her decision.

Memorable Projects: One memorable project for Sadia was “Eid Hasi” in 2021. She and a team of seven conducted this program at a local school distributing clothes for children and food for poor families. The tears in the eyes of the mothers while distributing the materials were a powerful motivator. This event left a lasting impact on her especially as the chairman of the area was also present.

Skills and Experience: Through her work with Lal Sabuj Society, Sadia has developed a wide range of valuable skills, including leadership and management, effective communication, collaboration and teamwork, problem-solving and critical thinking, time management and organization and financial management.

Enjoyment of Volunteering: Sadia enjoys the sense of family within Lal Sabuj Society. Despite the different teams in various districts, the members feel a strong connection and unity contributing to a sense of purpose and making a positive impact on the community.

Personal Goals for the Future:  Within the organization, Sadia aims to perform her best and continue learning and growing. She wants to work in the development sector and Lal Sabuj Society has helped her become perfect for her goals. She envisions herself contributing significantly to the strategic direction of the society by leveraging her skills and experiences to drive impactful projects.

Vision for the Future of Lal Sabuj Society: Sadia sees a promising future for Lal Sabuj Society with its dedication to social and environmental causes. She envisions the organization expanding its impact through broader initiatives, stronger community engagement and deeper collaborations with other organizations. Sadia aims to contribute to program development, fundraising and outreach efforts ensuring the society’s mission is achieved effectively. She also wants to focus on mentoring and empowering new members to cultivate a sustainable and resilient organization aiming for Lal Sabuj Society to have a team in all 64 districts of Bangladesh.
