A two-day awareness campaign was held in Bhola on September 23 and 24, 2026, aimed at promoting positive, respectful, and tolerant behavior towards adolescent girls among students, women, and men in the community. The initiative was organized by Lal Sobuj Society in cooperation with Plan International Bangladesh, under the Space to Lead project.

On September 23, an “uthan boithok” (courtyard meeting) was held in West Ilisha with 60 women participants. Discussions centered on the physical and mental changes adolescent girls experience, the importance of respectful and empathetic behavior towards them, and the creation of supportive family and social environments. Participants also discussed the role women play in ensuring the safety and rights of adolescent girls, and shared their views and experiences on fostering positive attitudes and safe environments for girls at home and in society.

The campaign continued on September 24 with two separate sessions. In East Ilisha, a similar uthan boithok was organized for 40 male participants, focusing on the same core themes along with a discussion on the role men can play in safeguarding the rights and safety of adolescent girls.

The same day, an awareness session was held at 63 No. Char Bheduria Government Primary School, organized under the Innovation Lab initiative of the Space to Lead project. The session brought together boy students aged 10 to 14 and addressed the physical and mental changes that occur during adolescence, the importance of showing respect and empathy towards adolescent girls, developing a positive outlook, and the role young boys can play in building a safe and supportive environment for girls.

Across all three sessions, organizers emphasized building community-wide awareness among boys, women, and men alike to help ensure a safer, more supportive environment for adolescent girls in both family and social settings.
