To raise awareness about mental health and address the growing issues of depression, stress, and lack of self-confidence among adolescents, a special two-day session titled “Mental Health for Teens” was held in Gazipur. The event took place at Iqbal Siddiquee School and College, located in the Rajendrapur Cantonment area.
On the first day, August 2, a dedicated mental health training session for teachers was conducted from 10:00 AM to 12:00 PM. The 31 participating teachers received hands-on guidance on mental health awareness, understanding students’ psychological struggles, and providing empathetic support. At the end of the training, certificates were distributed to all participants.
On the second day, August 3, the program for parents began at 9:00 AM, focusing on mental changes during adolescence, emotional regulation, and strategies for fostering positive communication with children. More than 50 parents took part in this awareness session.
Following that, from 11:30 AM to 1:30 PM, the main session for teenagers was held, with over 200 students in attendance.
Both sessions were conducted by Mahmuda Mohsina Bushra, a psychotherapist at Lal Sabuj Society and a consultant at Dhaka City Hospital. Her warm presentation style, practical discussions, and interactive approach left a positive impact on students and parents alike.
