About Ismat Nabihat Maksurah
Background: Although Nashita’s parents are from Barisal but she was born and raised in Dhaka. Nashita is currently a Research Associate at Lal Sabuj Society. Nashita was introduced to Lal Sabuj Society through a climate course after the pandemic in 2021.
Inspiration for Volunteer Work: Nashita didn’t have much idea about volunteering at first but she always felt inspired when she saw UNICEF’s activities. The environmental work done by Lal Sabuj Society initially drew her to join. Besides environmental issues, the organization also focuses on mental health, child safety and other important causes. The idea of working on multiple fronts was inspiring for Nashita. She was also motivated by Lal Sabuj Society’s vision of working globally.
Skills and Experience: Being part of the organization has helped her adapt to new environments, work together to solve problems and improve various skills like communication and teamwork that are essential in any workplace.
Enjoyment of Volunteering: The people in Lal Sabuj Society make the experience special for Nashita. Each member is unique and the organization feels like a place where they can share all their emotions safely. Everyone is supportive and eager to teach and correct mistakes with love.
Personal Goals for the Future: Nashita has a somewhat unusual but cherished dream—to travel the world. She loves being among people, cultures and nature. She hopes to gain experiences through her organization and work globally, not just within her country.
Nashita sees a bright future for Lal Sabuj Society. Everyone in the organization is hardworking and dedicated to their goals. She hopes their efforts will be recognized worldwide and she wants to contribute in a way that makes her proud of herself and the organization’s achievements.
